Help: Reference Record

The Reference Record page displays the full details of a International Index to Music Periodicals reference item.

What information does a reference record contain?

There are three different reference works for which there are reference records: Glossary, Opera Synopses and Music Fundamental Terms.
Note: Pronunciation Guides do not have a reference record as the audio files are accessed directly from the Reference Search Results page or the Browse Reference page.

All reference records are from reference works published by Naxos and display the Naxos Music Library logo:

If you have accessed a reference record from a search results page, links to the previous and next result in the list will be displayed at the top of the page, click a link to open the reference record for that result. To return to the search results page click the Back to results link in the side panel.

Hit Highlighting

When the reference record has been accessed directly from a Search Results page, hit highlighting is used to identify your search terms within the record. Hits are shown with a bright yellow background.

Note: hit highlighting is shown within the Glossary definition, Opera Synopses details and plot sunmmary and Music Fundamental Terms definition, subject type and related terms fields only.

Adding a reference record to the Marked List

You can add a reference record to the Marked List so that you can collect together several documents ready for emailing, printing or downloading during your session on International Index to Music Periodicals. To do this:

You can view items in the Marked List at any time by following the Marked List link at the top of the page.

Link back to the reference record

You can obtain the durable link for a reference record by clicking the Durable URL link in the side panel at the right of the page. A pop-up window will open displaying the URL; you can copy and paste it into your documents and email.

Email

Use the email link in the side panel at the right of the page to go to the Email page which contains a form to enable you to email the reference record.

Note: to email more than one item at a time you will need to use Marked List or My Archive.

Print

You can print the reference record you are currently viewing in one of the following ways:

Download citation

Use the Download citation link to go to the Download page where you can choose the format of the reference record for downloading to your computer.

This page provides options for you to download the record in plain text format, download in a format compatible with ProCite, EndNote, Reference Manager and RefWorks or export directly to ProCite, EndNote, Reference Manager or RefWorks.

Save a reference record to My Archive

You can save a reference record to My Archive for future reference.
